Before you write
Export your beta metrics and diagnostics from Settings › About › Beta Metrics and attach them. They contain no recordings or transcripts.
Common questions
How do I start and stop recording?
Press and hold the watch screen for 1 second. Do the same to stop. Pip’s ears show whether vocpal is listening.
Does vocpal upload my recordings?
No. There is no vocpal server. Audio goes from your watch to your own iPhone and is transcribed there with Apple’s on-device speech recognition.
Do I need an AI key?
No. Recording, transcription, playback and search work without AI. Add your own key from one of nine providers to get summaries, highlights and to-dos.
What do I need?
Apple Watch with watchOS 11 or later, and iPhone with iOS 18 or later.
How do I delete my data?
In the beta, you can set how long audio is kept, delete stored audio, Todo items, Chat conversations and your API key in the app. Deleting whole recordings is coming in a later version; until then, delete vocpal from your iPhone to remove all of its data. See section 6 of the Privacy Policy.
